Peter Malnati can breathe easier now. With his nerve-racking, hard-fought victory on Sunday at the Valspar Championship, where he found four birdies on his final nine to shoot 4-under 67 and win by two at Innisbrook’s demanding Copperhead Course – he now will have access to playing his favorite major of the season.

He collects 500 FedExCup points and $1,512,000. The 36-year-old was +25000 to prevail pre-tournament at BetMGM.

Justin Thomas tumbled from a tie for first place after an opening birdie at the Valspar Championship all the way to a tie for 66th.

Cameron Young finished alone in second place and as the only golfer in the field with four sub-70s. At +2200 to win, he was shortest among all PGA TOUR non-winners and tied for sixth-shortest overall. This is the seventh career runner-up finish for the 2021-22 Rookie of the Year.

Tournament favorite Xander Schauffele (+750) carded a field-low-tying 65 on Sunday to finish T5.

🚀 LPGA: Nelly Korda took seven weeks off and nothing changed. She won again on the LPGA Tour and made it far more exciting than it needed to be.

Korda made bogey on her last two holes Sunday at Palos Verdes Golf Club to fall into a playoff in the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, and then ended it quickly with a 12-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to beat Ryann O’Toole and return to No. 1 in the women’s world ranking.

Nelly Korda takes home $300,000 from the $2 million overall purse.

Jiyai Shin, a former world No. 1 who has been the top player on four worldwide tours, shared the lead going into the final round but fell back for good with a three-putt double bogey on the 12th. She closed with a 73 and tied for fifth.

The 26-year-old third-year PGA Tour member recorded yet another second-place finish, this time falling two shots short of Peter Malnati Sunday at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida.

After shooting 69-69-68-68 to a 10-under-par 274 total, Young now has seven such finishes. That’s the most second-place finishes in the last 40 years without a victory.

Young was the PGA Tour’s 2022 Rooke of the Year. That year he finished second at the Open Championship, a shot behind Cameron Smith.

He also finished second by two shots that year at the Genesis Invitational and the Wells Fargo Championship.

The Best Single Length Irons

Single-length irons or one-length irons are among the rarest golf clubs that you’ll come across. Made popular by Bryson DeChambeau, single length or one length irons sets are slowly starting to gain popularity among golfers.

Most of you might know that irons have varying lengths, that is why, we have long irons, mid irons and short irons.
