Brendan Steele held off Louis Oosthuizen to win the LIV Golf Adelaide tournament at The Grange Golf Club by one stroke while Ripper GC, led by local favorite Cameron Smith, won the team event.
But the tournament was much more than just the results.
🤯 Huge Attendance: The event this year drew more than 94,000 fans over the three competition days, exceeding the total crowd of 77,000 for last year's competition.
The untameable crowd noise, which hardly dropped even as the final shots were played, was the soundtrack for the event.
🤦♂️ Caddie Hit By Bottle: Lucas Herbert's caddie, Nick Pugh, was hit in the back of the head by a water bottle thrown by a patron while he was replacing the flag in the cup.
Pugh was knocked to his knees but managed to avoid serious injury. He eventually made his way back to the clubhouse at The Grange Golf Club.
🚩 Burmester vs Fans: Dean Burmester slammed a member of the Adelaide crowd on Sunday as he competed in the breakaway league's first ever team playoff, asking him to "shut the f*** up".
The crowd then continued to taunt throughout Burmester's back swing, as he went on to hit his second shot long into the bunker, which was met with one of the loudest cheers of the day.
🥵 DeChambeau Loses Bet: Bryson DeChambeau lost a bet against a fan after failing to make a 10-foot putt.
True to his word, he took off both shoes and socks, signed the socks and gave them to the fan. In the end, DeChambeau was seen walking barefoot into the clubhouse.
