Plus: Netflix flops on golf, and more

Good morning. It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving and there’s already so much action in the world of golf!

We bring you Day 2 updates and links to watch highlights from all 3 championships. Netflix flops big on golf, the most dangerous golf course in the world, an update on Donald Trump’s golf course, and much more - in today’s edition of Golf Reporter.

ALBATROS
Day 2: RSM Classic, CME Group, DP World Tour

Top 5 leaderboard and links to watch the Day 2 highlights of each championship.

PGA Tour: The RSM Classic

Ludvig Åberg had a pair of two-putt birdies, one of them on a par 4, and kept bogeys off his card for the second straight day for a 6-under 64 on Friday to take a one-shot lead into the weekend at The RSM Classic.

Matt Kuchar, who had a 4-under 68 on the Plantation Course, was among those two behind.

A victory would move Åberg into the top 60 in the FedExCup Fall standings, send him to Maui to start the new season at Kapalua and get him into the first two $20 million Signature Events at Pebble Beach and Riviera (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational). He also would get into the Masters.

LPGA: CME Group Tour Championship

Alison Lee birdied four of her last five holes Friday to extend a hot streak that stretches from Saudi Arabia to South Korea to Florida. Her 8-under 64 gave her a share of the lead with Nasa Hataoka in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

Eight players were at 10 under or lower going into the weekend.

DP World Tour Championship

Hojgaard leads the way after 2nd round at DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Tommy Fleetwood, the Dubai-based world No. 15, was hoping to win his first title of the season in a tournament that he said was close to his heart, but the Englishman will have to battle the red-hot rising star of the sport, Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard, who has similar ambitions.

Fleetwood and Hojgaard were both members of the winning European Ryder Cup team, and have had superb seasons.

EAGLE
Netflix Flops on Golf

Netflix has long flirted with the possibility of entering the live sports broadcasting game, but the idea of diving straight off the deep end with a major live sports property, as rival Amazon had done with its NFL Thursday Night Football package, felt extreme.

The format was confusing and the last-second departure of Collin Morikawa left the competition disjointed. The early audio crackled and glitched to the point of being unlistenable. Many of the competitors seemed confused about whether they were supposed to be acting funny or cool.

Even for an event with an admittedly loose connection to competitive golf, there was too little commitment to the on-course product for it to be taken seriously.

Why does this matter? Well, because Netflix is the largest player in the streaming industry — and also notably, the last major media company to enter the sports rights business.

BIRDIE
The Most Dangerous Golf Course In The World

This is the wildest golf course on the planet.

Skukuza Golf Course, situated in South Africa's Kruger National Park, is an 18 hole death trap surrounded by a bunch of stuff that doesn't want you to live.

Before play, the course requires that golfers sign a waiver to essentially state they are aware that the round of golf they are about to embark upon is a terrible idea.

The course was originally built in 1972 as a recreation spot for park staff, and today it's open to the public

And because there are zero fences around the course, it is also open to any creature that wants to join your round.
