Matt Fitzpatrick added weights to his driver about a year ago. He forgot the weight was there, even as his driver started feeling uncomfortable and that led to poor results.

He discovered this a couple of weeks ago when he took his club to Titleist and removed 4 grams of extra weight.

Fitzpatrick is currently T-4 at the Players, in contention to win the title.

⛳ This day in history: On this day in 1878, the Royal Troon Golf Club was founded in Scotland. The venue has hosted The Open Championship nine times till date.

Injuries and missed cuts headline the second round of The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

🏌️ Wyndham Solo Leader: Wyndham Clark leads by four shots following a sensational second round at TPC Sawgrass.

A star-studded leaderboard is taking shape with Xander Schauffele and Nick Taylor placed T-2. Fitzpatrick, Scheffler and McIlroy are also in contention.

🚩 Stars Miss Cut: Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris and a number of other stars are heading home early after failing to make the cut.

Former Champions Webb Simpson (2018) and Matt Kuchar (2012) will also not be around for the weekend.

🏥 Scheffler vs Injury: Scottie Scheffler has apparently sustained a neck injury and received treatment on the course three times during Round 2.

The World No 1 is currently T-6 but it remains to be seen if the injury will take a toll on him over the next two rounds.

🔻 McIlroy's Wild Round: Rory McIlroy had a poor second round that saw him drop from T-1 to T-14. He carded a 1-over 73 and lies eight shots behind the leader.

⛳️ 1000th Water Ball: Beau Hossler hit the 1,000th ball in the water at the par-3 17th hole since 2003, when ShotLink began tracking shots at the hole.

🚫 Higgo Withdraws: The Players Championship has now seen two withdrawals in two days - South Africa's Garrick Higgo withdrew with a wrist injury during Round 2, following in the footsteps of Tom Kim, who withdrew on Thursday.

☁️ Round 2 Suspended: Round 2 was suspended due to darkness at 7:30 pm ET and has resumed today at 7:40 am ET. Round 3 tee times will begin at approximately 8:20 am ET.

The film depicts the life of Seve Ballesteros and the challenges he overcame as a young child before rising to become one of the top golfers of his generation.
