📍Spieth Eyes 2025 Return: Jordan Spieth is progressing well following wrist surgery and expects to be ready for the start of the 2025 PGA Tour season. Sporting a cast on his left wrist in his first public appearance since his surgery, Spieth appeared at a fundraiser at Brookhaven Country Club just outside Dallas.

Spieth, 31, initially injured his wrist in 2023. He last competed in the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis in mid-August.

Spieth did not earn entry into the 2025 season-opening tournament, The Sentry. He is, however, able to play in the Sony Open in Hawaii on Jan. 9-12 at Waialae Country Club.

How Rory's New Training Aid Works

Photo: Getty Images | Source: Yardbarker Golf

Rory McIlroy is trying out two different training aids on the range of the DP World Tour's BMW PGA Championship this week.

He has been spotted using the G-Snap - a training aid that snaps when you put your wrist into flexion, which helps golfers flatten or bow their lead wrist, as opposed to cupping it.

Rory tends to cup his wrist excessively on the backswing, but it can occasionally pitch the club across the line at the top of his backswing, which can cause him to miss left. The G-Snap prevents this from happening. It puts a little more flex into his lead wrist, which puts more "strength" in his clubface.

After a few shots using this training aid, Rory added a ball between his arms and took some practice swings.

When Rory uses his wrists to roll the club open, he has to roll them back shut, which can be hard to time perfectly every time—which can, again, lead to a left miss. The ball between Rory's arms prevents this wrist roll through.

With the G-Snap helping put his wrist in a better position on the way back, the ball is there to quiet and turn his body freely through.

TV Ratings: Solheim Cup Trumps LIV Golf

Photo: USA Today | Source: Golf Monthly

The Nielsen ratings are out for this weekend, and the ratings for LIV Golf in its individual championship at LIV Golf Chicago were some of the lowest of the season.

Only 89,000 people tuned in on the CW to watch Jon Rahm win the title Sunday, and on Saturday in the second round, which LIV Golf said was its highest-attended round in the United States ever, drew 134,000 viewers on TV.

On Sunday, the Solheim Cup drew an audience of 657K, seven times more than those who watched LIV. For comparison, the Solheim Cup ended about 2:45 p.m. ET Sunday, and LIV Golf Chicago concluded at 6:05 p.m. ET, so they weren’t competing head to head.

Those numbers don’t include LIV Golf Plus, but regardless, it paints a stark picture of fan interest in the breakaway league that concludes its third season this week at the Team Championship at Maridoe in Dallas.

⛳️ PGA Tour Ratings Continue To Decline: Patton Kizzire's Procore Championship win could garner only 69,000 viewers on Sunday, September 15.

The tournament saw a huge dip in viewership compared to last year - only 69,000 viewers tuned in for the Sunday finale, compared to last year's edition, which garnered 298,000 viewers.

In a week, where both the PGA Tour and LIV struggled to garner viewership, Solheim Cup was the winner of the viewership battle as it drew 657,000 viewers on NBC, which was the highest in the past three editions.
