🏌🏻 Rory's Surprise Return

Plus: How to develop feel while chipping

Good morning! It’s Nelly and Scottie’s world and we’re all just living in it!

A day after Nelly Korda won a historic fifth consecutive LPGA title, Scottie Scheffler continued his dominant run on the PGA Tour, winning the RBC Heritage tournament and it has just become inevitable at this point.

Check out the equipment Scheffler used and the complete prize money breakdown.

Fun Fact: Scottie Scheffler has twice as many wins this season (4) as rounds of even par (2). He has zero rounds over par.

β›³ This day in history: Only a handful of players have won the first PGA Tour event they played, and one of them is Marty Fleckman, who was born on April 23, 1944, in Port Arthur, Texas.

Scheffler Cements Historic Dominance With Heritage Win

Photo: USA Today | Source: ESPN

A Monday finish only delayed the inevitable as Scottie Scheffler cruised to victory by three shots at the RBC Heritage.

He's by far the most dominant golfer on the PGA Tour currently and these stats cement his position:

βœ… Won four of his last five tournaments, three of which by were by at least three strokes.

βœ… Became the first golfer since Bernhard Langer in 1985 to win the week after winning the Masters.

βœ… It took 51 starts after the first win of his career to pick up win No. 10. The only golfer to do that in a faster span was David Duval, who did it in 33 starts.

βœ… Seven of his 10 victories came with at least eight of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking in the field.

βœ… The streak of rounds of par or better now stands at 40 for Scheffler, 12 rounds away from Woods’ record of 52.

πŸš€ Best Run Since Woods: Scheffler's scoring average is currently 67.50. The PGA Tour record for scoring average in a season is 67.79 by Tiger.

Remarkably, Woods hit that exact number in both 2000 and 2007.

More interestingly, Scheffler got to his first 10 wins in 51 starts, Woods required 59.

This Is How Korda's Streak Ranks Among All-Time Greats

Nelly Korda won a historic fifth consecutive LPGA title at the Chevron Championship.

Only two women (Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez) and three men (Byron Nelson, Tiger Woods and Ben Hogan) have ever accomplished the feat.

πŸŒβ€β™€Bryon Nelson (11): Nelson played in 30 events in 1945 and won 18 of them including a streak of 11 consecutive wins.

He won the PGA Championship during that run, the only major played that year due to World War II.

πŸŒβ€β™€Tiger Woods (7,6,5): Woods won seven consecutive titles in 2006-07, six in 1999-2000 and five in 2007-08.

He's the only player to feature thrice in this exclusive list - that speaks volumes.

πŸŒβ€β™€Ben Hogan (6): Hogan’s 10-win season in 1948 included a six-win streak that began at the U.S. Open at Riviera, where he set a championship record of 8 under that shoot for more than 30 years.

πŸŒβ€β™€Nancy Lopez (5): Lopez won five straight as a rookie in 1978. She’d go on to win nine times in total that season.

πŸŒβ€β™€Annika Sorenstam (5): Sorenstam ended the 2004 season with back-to-back victories and then carried on the streak in 2005.

She became the first player in tour history to enter a major coming off four wins in consecutive starts and eventually won it.

πŸŒβ€β™€Nelly Korda (5): Korda clinched her second major title at the Chevron Championship and became only the third LPGA player in history to win five consecutive starts.

No LPGA player has ever won six consecutive events - can she do it?

These Tiger Moments At PGA Championship Made History

The next major fixture this year is the PGA Championship and Tiger Woods has already confirmed that he will participate in all four majors.

Before he heads to Valhalla Golf Course, we take a look at his greatest moments in the major.

πŸ“Έ Defeats Sergio Garcia in 1999: Woods almost let go of his five-stroke lead when Garcia started to change things up with his brilliance.

However, a sensational 8-foot par save on the 17th hole made things easier for Woods, helping him secure his second major title.

πŸ“Έ Playoff Win Against Bob May: In 2000, Woods had to face May in a three-hole aggregate playoff. He made an amazing birdie putt on the first playoff hole to take a lead which May could never overcome.

Tiger won his fifth major title.

πŸ“Έ 2006 Heroics: Woods’ most dominant performance at the PGA Championship was in 2006.

He shot birdies after birdies in the final round to tie his record of the lowest aggregate score at the tournament – 18 under par. The American also became the first player in history to win the tournament twice at the same venue.

πŸ“Έ Defends Title In 2007: Woods made four amazing birdies in the final round to defeat Woody Austin and record his 13th consecutive victory as an outright 54-hole leader at the major championships.
