Jon Rahm Officially Suspended From PGA Tour

The PGA Tour announced in a memo to its membership Monday evening that world No. 3 Jon Rahm has officially been suspended and will no longer be able to play in PGA Tour events. Following the announcement of his decision to leave for LIV Golf, Rahm voiced his desire to still be able to play select events on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
The PGA Tour shutting that talk down means the Spaniard will not be defending his crowns at The Sentry, The American Express and the Genesis Invitational.
An unidentified group of disgruntled tour members sent a petition around the circuit during the first week of December looking for support to change the FedEx Cup points allocation in signature events. This request has been denied.
The PGA Tour just sent this to their members. Announcing that Jon Rahm is officially suspended and everyone would move up one spot. Moving Mackenzie Hughes into the top 50.
And also announced the points for 2024 after “extensive modeling”.

The DP World Tour has hosted five events so far in its 2023-24 season. The last four have been won by players in the LIV Golf League.
Louis Oosthuizen kept the streak alive on Monday by winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane, South Africa. The victory on the European-based circuit was the 10th of his career and first since the 2018 South African Open.
Oosthuizen finished at 18 under, two shots clear of Stinger GC teammate, Charl Schwartzel.
Another Stinger, Dean Burmester, got the LIV party started three weeks ago with his victory at the Joburg Open and doubled down with a win last week at the Investec South African Open Championship.
Also last week, Joaquin Niemann won the ISPS Handa Australian Open and Oosthuizen made it a fourth consecutive win on Monday after Sunday’s final round was delayed.

English golfer Laurie Canter missed a five-foot putt to lose out on a LIV Golf spot after a dramatic play-off in Abu Dhabi.
Three places in next season’s Saudi-backed series were up for grabs at the event, entered by 73 players.
His fourth-placed finish in the UAE means that he will miss out on the significant financial rewards on offer to LIV golfers.
The 2024 LIV season will feature 12 regular season and two finals events, starting in Mayakoba in Mexico on 4 February. Last place at each event earns $125,000.
