🏌🏻 Top Players Miss Masters

Plus: How to fix your lower body stability

Good morning. A whopping 73% of us backed Scottie Scheffler to do the unthinkable and win both his upcoming tournaments while 27% felt that it’s not realistically possible for him to win The Players and the Masters within a month - the results from our poll where we asked: Can Scottie Scheffler win 3-4 tournaments in 5 weeks?

Our top pick for an underdog to win this tournament is doing exceedingly well too - Mackenzie Hughes is at T6, with 4 under Par.

⛳ This day in history: : On this date in 1992, Davis Love III, who had just suffered a devastating fire at his home on St. Simons Island, Georgia, won the Players Championship by four strokes ahead of four players in second.

The opening round of the Houston Open had its fair share of drama and action - here are the top storylines.

🚀 Americans Share Lead: Rookie Wilson Furr carded a 20-foot birdie putt on his final hole to tie Taylor Moore at the top on 6-under 64.

They are one stroke ahead of the chasing pack comprising Scottie Scheffler, Joe Highsmith and David Riley.

🚨 Record Alert: Scottie Scheffler registered his 28th consecutive round under par - the longest streak in PGA Tour history. He also extended his streak to 49 holes without a bogey.

Scheffler is on course for a third straight PGA Tour victory, a feat last accomplished seven years ago by Dustin Johnson.

⛳️ Twins Make History: Parker Coody and Pierceson Coody became the first twin Tour professionals to play in the same pairing. Pierceson shot 2-under 68 while Parker carded an even-par 70.

📌 Riley's Swing Fix: David Riley has had a terrible start to the year, registering six MCs but a subtle change in his swing has helped him finish T-3 after Round 1 in Houston. Riley worked on his swing with instructor Jeff Smith after a dismal outing at The Players and it's paying dividends.

Tosti's Grip Switch: Alejandro Tosti switched the grip on his putter ahead of the Houston Open and it's working thus far. He carded eight birdies in the opening round and currently sits T-6.

The countdown to the 2024 Masters has well and truly begun - we take a look at some of the big names who won't be travelling to Augusta National in April.

🏌️Bernhard Langer: The 1985 and 1993 Green Jacket winner will miss his first Masters since 2011 and only his second since 1983 due to an injury he sustained while playing Pickle ball. He is currently recovering from a torn Achilles tendon but will be attending the Champions Dinner.

🏌️Billy Horschel: Horschel misses his first Major since 2018 and his first Masters since 2017 after dropping down to 91st in the world following a win-less 2023.

🏌️Angel Cabrera: The 2009 Masters winner will miss this edition because his US visa has been temporarily suspended following 30 months in prison.

🏌️Kevin Kisner: The four-time PGA Tour winner, who could be in line for NBC Sports' head golf announcer role, misses The Masters for the first time since 2015, and it's also the first Major he's missing after a run of 32 consecutive starts.

🏌️Louis Oosthuizen: LIV Golf's Louis Oosthuizen famously made an albatross on the par 5 2nd at Augusta in 2012, where he went on to lose in a playoff to Bubba Watson. However, he is currently outside the world's top 50 and hasn’t received a special invite, which means he’s set to miss his first Masters since 2008.

Why Is Landmand Popular?

The Greens are large and they possess slopes, sections, crowns and internal contours.

The putting surfaces average 14,000 square feet (the size of the average American green is about 6,000 square feet), and three of them—the fifth, 15th and 17th–are all more than 25,000 square feet.

The architecture and joy of playing over it is another major green flag.
