'Golf's Longest Day', which this year was June 3, saw 10 Final Qualifying events spread out around the US and Canada, each 36-hole affairs, with a total of 687 amateurs and professionals trying to qualify for the US Open.

There were 44 available spots and those who advanced will join the 23 who have already gotten through the first three Final Qualifying events held two weeks ago and the 85 who were fully exempt.

🚫 Scott's Historic Streak Ends: Adam Scott’s streak of appearing in 91 consecutive majors came to an end on Monday in a dramatic playoff finish at the qualifying event in Springfield Country Club.

The four lowest scores out of the 64-person field gained entry into the 2024 US Open Championship at Pinehurst No 2 in North Carolina. Scott finished just short of the mark.

🚩 Niemann Out: LIV Golf star Joaquin Niemann failed to qualify - his first Major miss since the 2020 Masters. The Chilean carded a pair of 71s in The Bear’s Club, Jupiter, Florida, not enough to give him a US Open berth.

πŸ“Œ Who's In, Who's Out? A number of PGA Tour regulars made it through including Daniel Berger, Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, Harry Higgs, Aaron Rai, Mark Hubbard, Seamus Power and Brendon Todd, while LIV Golfers Dean Burmester and David Puig also progressed.

Some of the notable names to miss out are Matt Wallace, Ben Griffin and Keith Mitchell, among others.

This Is How Saso Modelled Her Swing On McIlroy

Double US Women's Open Champion Yuka Saso used McIlroy's swing as her inspiration during her teenage years. At 22 years, 11 months and 13 days, she recently became the youngest players to win two US Women's Open titles.

She spent hours in front of a mirror going through the motion of swinging a golf club - just like Rory McIlroy. A few years later, she has bagged two Major titles - 2021 and 2024.

πŸ“Saso used to stand in front of a mirror before and after school in order to hone her skills.

πŸ“She would also watch videos of McIlroy on YouTube before going to bed in order to learn from his methods.

πŸ“She lived inside a golf course during the initial phase of her journey and spent 12 hours daily, practicing her swing.

McIlroy was asked about his professional admirer's comments midway through the 2021 Memorial Tournament. The four-time Major winner admitted "there's some similarities".

"The way she sort of turns off the ball, like the way our heads both go at impact. There is some stuff there."

- Rory McIlroy

Titleist brought its newest drivers and fairway woods – the yet-to-be-released GT2, GT3 and GT4 – to the 2024 Memorial Tournament and made them available for staff players such as Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris and Cameron Young.

Their use this week will be their first in a PGA Tour event - check out the primary features.

πŸ“Œ GT2 (The Point and Shoot driver): It's a club that is larger from front to back than the other drivers in the family, along with a single weight located on the seam that joins the back of the crown with the sole. Extra mass there would pull the center of gravity down and back.

πŸ“Œ GT3 (Draw-Fade adjustability): Adjustable weight has been placed in the sole of the GT3. With the location of the adjustable weight more forward in the sole, it should help reduce spin and create a lower ball flight.

The GT3 also has a classic pear shape and a more compact look than the GT2.

πŸ“Œ GT4 (Spin and launch adjustability): The GT4 has two adjustable weights, with one in the front and one in the back to go along with a compact head design.

A heavier weight in the front with a light weight in the back would reduce spin and help the GT4 produce a more-piercing launch, while putting a heavier weight in the back and a light weight in the front would increase the spin rate and launch height.

All three GT drivers have been designed with Titleist’s 16-setting SureFit hosel system, which allows golfers to independently change the loft and lie angle.
