Trivia: The Players Championship is the next stop on the PGA Tour calendar. Five golfers have won The Players and a major championship in the same calendar year: Jack Nicklaus (1978, The Open), Hal Sutton (1983, PGA), Tiger Woods (2001, Masters), Martin Kaymer (2014, US Open), and who else? Answer at the end of the mail.

⛳ This day in history: On this date in 1956, the LPGA Tour’s Titleholders Championship of Women's Golf was won for the third time by Louise Suggs in a great battle with Patty Berg, winning by one shot at Augusta Country Club.

World No 1 Scottie Scheffler won the Arnold Palmer Invitational by five shots, the largest margin at Bay Hill since Tiger Woods in 2012.

🤯 16/16 Putts: Scheffler switched to a mallet putter on Rory McIlroy's advice and it seems to have worked wonders.

He made 16 out of 16 putts inside 15 feet during the final round. His 4.347 strokes gained: putting performance at Bay Hill was nearly five shots better than his season average and ranked fifth in the field.

🚫 McIlroy Chokes: Rory McIlroy had an outside chance of challenging for the title going into Round 4 but he bottled it big time.

His disappointing 76 on the final day saw him finish outside the top 20.

⛳️ The Open Quota: Will Zalatoris finished T-4 and punched his ticket to Royal Troon via The Open Qualifying Series, which awarded one spot to the top finisher at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, not otherwise exempt.

🚩 Wyndham Controversy: Wyndham Clark, who finished 2nd, was accused of cheating on the 18th hole at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, when he attempted to weigh on his club near the ball.

After the video went viral, Clark defended himself stating that close-up pictures are only making it look "worse".

📌 Stars Struggle: Most of the big names had a poor final round.

Top-ranked stars like Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth finished in the lower half of the leaderboard.

Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg finished T-25.
