Jhonattan Vegas was the beneficiary of both luck and the law Sunday at the 3M Open, where he earned his fourth TOUR title overall, first since 2017, with a two-putt birdie from 96 feet on the final hole at TPC Twin Cities.

Vegas shot a 70 in the final round, saving himself on the 12th hole with some luck involving a police officer. His tee shot veered left, narrowly avoiding trouble thanks to the officer, whose arm caught the ball and kept it still until Vegas could take a free drop nearby.

🚀On Track For FedEx Cup: The win secures Vegas’ status on TOUR. He had just 10 starts left on his Major Medical this season before this week but will now play out of the tournament winners category through 2026. He earned exemptions into The Sentry, Masters Tournament and PGA Championship for 2025. He is also likely to make the FedExCup Playoffs after jumping from 149th to 66th.

He can secure Signature Event exemptions if he cracks the top 50 after the FedEx St Jude Championship.

📍Holds Off Strong Chasing Pack: There were no wide margins on the final day. At one point, four golfers were atop the leaderboard listed at 15 under. Canada's Taylor Pendrith (67), who had been the second-round leader, recovered from Saturday's 73 and finished fifth at 14 under.

Sahith Theegala (70) also had a chance on the last hole, but after hitting his second shot into the water he ended with a bogey and finished in a three-way tie for sixth at 13 under, along with Kurt Kitayama (66) and Patrick Fishburn (70).

But Vegas did enough to see off their challenge and win his first title in seven years.

Ryder Cup: Will Bradley Snub LIV Golf Stars?

Photo: Reuters | Source: The Mirror

Keegan Bradley will be unable to visit the LIV UK event this weekend to scout members for his 2025 Ryder Cup team, as he's currently competing in the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota. It is likely to be a familiar issue, with Bradley very much still in the prime of his own playing career.

With PGA Tour events he will be competing in clashing with the LIV Golf schedule, he faces having to snub watching LIV Golf stars in a clear problem in terms of being able to run the role over potential Team USA members. Big names on the rebel tour include the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch and more.

Bradley confirmed that he would be willing to select LIV Golf stars on his team but things seem to have changed with Bradley not getting enough time to scout his potential team-mates from LIV Golf.

⛳️ Rahm Wins Maiden LIV Golf Title: Jon Rahm won his first LIV Golf title after teammate Tyrrell Hatton missed a 6-foot par putt on No 18 that could have forced a playoff at LIV United Kingdom. Rahm carded a 4-under-par 67 to finish ahead by one stroke at 13-under 271 at JCB Golf and Country Club.

Rahm, who left the PGA Tour in December when he was the No 3 golfer in the world, had not won a tournament since the 2023 Masters.

Legion XIII captured its fourth team title this season at 26 under with Rahm, Hatton, American Caleb Surratt and Zimbabwe's Kieran Vincent contributing scores.

Amateur: Trevor Gutschewski outlasted Tyler Watts to win the US Junior Amateur, earning an exemption to the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont.

Target Ryder Cup: Tyrrell Hatton is determined that his status as a LIV Golf player won’t harm his chances of playing for Team Europe in the 2025 Ryder Cup - he has outlined his schedule to ensure he has the best chance of playing in the 2025 match at Bethpage Black.

This Is What Top 5 Putters On The PGA Tour Use

Putting styles and putter models are two very personal choices and finding both that feel comfortable for you will undoubtedly help you hole more putts.

Today, we look at the current top 5 putters on the PGA Tour based on Strokes Gained Total: Putting as of the conclusion of The Open Championship, looking at what model of putter each of them are using as well as what grip they have adopted.

🏌‍♀Denny McCarthy: McCarthy is number one on the PGA Tour for the Total Putting Statistic. This is a calculation that combines six putting statistics such as how many putts from five specific ranges and three-putt avoidance.

McCarthy uses a Scotty Cameron GoLo N7 putter with a Scotty Cameron ‘Baby T’ putter grip and uses a conventional putting grip style to roll the rock.

🏌‍♀Xander Schauffele: Schauffele leads the PGA Tour in three-putt avoidance and comes in second this season in the Total Putting statistic.

He has been using the same style of head (Odyssey #7 CH) for some time now and has been swapping in and out of different finishes and faces. After the Ai-One launch in October, Schauffele made the switch to the same model with the new tech and white hot insert but has since changed back to his trusty Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas design with a milled crosshatch face and iconic red paint blast

🏌‍♀Thomas Detry: Detry currently sits third in Total Putting and 32nd in the FedEx Cup, despite being yet to win on tour. He has used the same Odyssey O-Works Black #7 for the majority of his professional career and has it equipped with a SuperStroke 2.0 Tour grip. Detry uses a left-below-right grip style while also adopting a two-thumb style hold on the club.

🏌‍♀Christiaan Bezuidenhout: While Bezuidenhout has tinkered with many putters over the past couple of years including the Odyssey number 7 and the Odyssey Jailbird putter, he has recently reverted back to his old trusty - the Odyssey Works #5 Big T.

He is the only player in the top 5 to move away from a conventional putting grip style and uses a Two Thumb Snug Daddy 30 grip to do so.

🏌‍♀Jason Day: Day switched from his stealthed out TaylorMade Spider putter and moved into an eye-catching, TaylorMade Itsy Bitsy Spider Limited, coated in a matte red finish in 2016 but reverted back to the ‘old trusty’ red Itsy Bitsy Spider last year.

He is currently one of the top 5 putters on the PGA Tour and sits 23rd in the FedEx Cup standings.
